Our wellbeing and health are influenced by many factors such as active lifestyle, balanced diet and quality sleep. Unfortunately, we often forget about how important the air and the microclimate of indoor spaces are. There are many simple ways to improve the air quality in our home. One of them is natural beeswax candles
We are surrounded by many electronic devices, which emit harmful electromagnetic radiation. As a result, our surroundings are filled with positive ions, which negatively affect our general psychophysical condition. The deficiency of negative ions makes us feel restless, even after a long day of intense work.
Positive and negative ions
Positive ions are emitted mostly by electronic equipment and synthetic fibres. Additionally, the level of positive ions rises on dry and windy days. An excess of positive ions in indoor air can cause anxiety, irritation, fatigue, runny nose, coughing and dry mucous membranes. It can often lead to breathing troubles and elevated heart rate, as well as exacerbation of allergies.
In a normal microclimate, negative ions outweigh the positive ones. The negative ions purify the air, enhance wellbeing, allow to rest and ensure deep sleep, alleviate allergies and asthma symptoms, and help to breathe. Negative ions are to be found in nature, in forests, parks and gardens. Having plants at home is important exactly for this reason. Also, beeswax candles help in indoor air ionisation.
Only 15 minutes of burning a beeswax candle at home can already improve the indoor air quality.
Candles at home
Beeswax has many properties beneficial for our indoor air quality. While burning, a candle releases all healing substances contained in it, which helps alleviate any irritations of the respiratory system, asthma or allergy symptoms. Beeswax also contains valerian, which has a calming and soothing effect and also facilitates sleep. Beeswax candles purify the microclimate, by eliminating positive ions and enhancing the air with negative ones, thus improving our general wellbeing, memory and ability to focus.
But that’s not all! Beeswax candles neutralise unpleasant smells, including the tobacco smoke smell, and instead fill the air with a pleasant scent of honey and propolis. They don’t emit smoke while burning.
